The comfortable 3 star graded self-catering cabins provide a central base from which to experience the big 5 in the world renowned Addo Elephant National Park, situated a mere 20km from the Main Gate and South Gate entrances to the park. At Aloe Cabins we offer a choice between two semi-detached self-catering cabins, Gwarri and Num-Num. Cabin 1 - Gwarri (sleeps 5 guests) 1 Bedroom with double bed and 2 single beds, toilet / shower en-suite. Open-plan lounge with 1 single bed, fully equipped kitchenette, TV with select DStv, board games. Free standing fans and heater. Wooden deck. Braai/barbeque area and communal swimming pool. Bedding, towels, fresh farm milk, citrus fruit in season and braai wood provided. Cabin 2 - Num-Num (sleeps 4 guests) 1 Bedroom with queen size bed, toilet / bath / shower en-suite. Open-plan lounge with 1 single bed and built-in sleeper couch, fully equipped kitchenette, TV with select DStv, board games. Free standing fans and heater. Wooden deck. Braai/barbeque area and communal swimming pool. Bedding, towels, fresh farm milk, citrus fruit in season and braai wood provided. Cleaning facility available on request. Laundry facility available in nearby Addo Village - 8km There are a host of activities offered at Aloe Cabins: As your guide, Charles Marais offers relaxed walks through the Bushveld Flower Reserve where you will hear all about interesting bushveld plants, including their ecology, folklore and medicinal value. Filled with a wide variety of succulents, geophytes and thorny woody plants, the Reserve is a good example of Mesic Valley thicket, Nama Karoo and Riverine Acacia thicket and some Grassveld. (Please note - booking is essential).

The Colonial offers understated luxury in two garden facing suites, both with private entrance - The Fitzpatrick Suite and The Kirkwood Suite. Each suite comprises a bedroom, with queen sized double bed, with fitted electric blanket, and en-suite to a deluxe shower and double vanity area provided with luxury guest amenities. Elegantly appointed, with the emphasis on your comfort and relaxation, both the units offer separate lounge. There is the added pleasure of complimentary tea / coffee facilities and a courtesy bar fridge. The rooms are heated for the cooler winter nights and have overhead fans and air-conditioners for the warmer African days. A private safe completes the facilities. We have recently constructed The Wallow where guests can experience an hot outdoor bath, under the African stars, in a private and secluded part of the garden. A farmhouse breakfast, included in the tariff, is served on the spacious garden-facing verandah overlooking the orchards. A fold away third bed can be added on request. Bathroom Newly installed toilet and shower room shared by the Beach and Garden bedrooms. Kitchen Large fully equipped and newly installed modern kitchen with granite worktop. Fully equipped with large double electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Sitting Room Large sitting room overlooking the sea, beaches, lagoon and mountains. Open fireplace for those occasional cool winter evenings. Dining Room Furnished with rare Yellow and Blackwood dining furniture. Entrance Hall and Guest Toilet As you enter the front door you will be blown away by the magnificent sea view. Veranda Large covered veranda overlooking the ocean, lagoon, beach and mountains. With the stunning views and mild climate the veranda generally replaces the sitting room and lounge for both meal times and relaxation. Pool and Garden and Braai (BBQ) The pool overlooks the sea. If you are lucky you could spot whales from the sun lounger. The garden is well maintained with a variety of indigenous plants The luxury guest cottage is adjacent to the main house. Both bedrooms offer guests magnificent views overlooking the sea, lagoon and distant mountains.
