The house sleeps four comfortably, having two upstairs double bedrooms (one room with a double bed), a shower and basin and a separate loo. The upstairs living space is bright, sunny and warm in the winter with a large outdoor deck. There is a general purpose room with more beds and a half bathroom downstairs as well as puzzles and board games for children, cards and a card table for adults. The downstairs veranda leads to a basic braai (BBQ) in the forest setting. There is parking for two cars at the back of the house, up an access panhandle. On the verge in front of the house is spacious parking. The accommodation is rustic, there is a stove, fridge microwave and small appliances but no television or washing machine. However there is a hand clothes-washing basin (with a colourful mosaic wall above it) and washing line outside. Sedgefield is situated in the Wilderness National Park and offers many activities. It is within easy reach of Knysna (20 mins), Wilderness (15 mins) and George (30 mins).

There are three houses on the site in two blocks. The Kingfisher Corner: The Kingfisher Corner is a self catering, serviced, cottage which sleeps 4 adults. The cottage is wheelchair accessible and a child under 6 can be accommodated additionally. Facilities include 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room with TV, a fully equipped open plan kitchen and dining room, as well as a balcony that has a great open view of lagoon, mountains and sea. The property is on the lagoon with direct access to the water and a 5 minute walk from the main bathing beach. All linen, towels, Weber braai, ADSL wireless internet connection, etc is provided. This is let out on a daily basis. Servicing is provided, unless occupiers prefer not. The Other Corner: The Other Corner is the two original houses one above the other. Only the one unit is let, and contains two and a half bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite) and a large living room / dining / kitchen. The balcony has an unbelievable view, quite the best in Sedgefield and perhaps the garden route too. Many breakfasts will be enjoyed here, and evening get-togethers. The stove is gas, but fridge, lights, hot water and are electric. There is a good Jetmaster fireplace as well, lovely in winter. No servicing is provided. The house is dry construction and was built 30 years ago. This house is cosy even in the winter with striking views due west over the estuary. The beauty of this set-up is that if there are more people to be accommodated in The Kingfisher Corner than the four allowed, they can use The Other Corner. The whole set-up is planned for privacy, even though the units are close together. Boating and fishing, as well as great open water swimming are a must. Birdwatching can be enjoyed from the balconies, or the near-by bird-hides, especially good for water birds and waders.
