Sectors
The GBS incentive pays a set amount per qualifying job, over five years, to businesses that deliver services (customer support, back-office, IT support, legal and finance processing) to clients outside South Africa. Jobs filled by young people attract a higher rate, and the scheme has driven the growth of Cape Town and Durban as outsourcing hubs.
Applicants must commit to a minimum number of offshore jobs and can be South African or foreign-owned. Skills partners (Harambee, the BPESA industry body) help with recruitment.
Who qualifies
Registered company delivering services to offshore clients; creates at least the minimum number of new jobs; complies with labour and B-BBEE requirements.
How to apply
Apply on the dtic incentives portal under GBS; BPESA assists members with applications.
Insly is not the funder and charges nothing. Amounts and rules are as published by Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) and were last checked 15 Sept 2026; confirm on their site before applying. No legitimate funder charges an application fee.
