Chief Oral Hygienist Grade 1 Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services

Department: Western Cape Provincial Government Centre: Oral Health Centre, Tygerberg/Mitchell’s Plain Platform Salary: Grade 1: R598 260 per annum DUTIES (key result areas/outputs): Provide comprehensive oral hygiene assessment, diagnosis, preventive and therapeutic treatment within the Scope of Practice. Deliver oral health promotion and disease prevention programmes. Participate in community-based oral health services and outreach initiatives. Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate theoretical, clinical and community-based teaching. Provide effective clinical supervision and mentorship. Conduct and 263 contribute to clinical, public health and oral health research. Contribute to effective departmental, faculty and institutional leadership and governance. Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Oral Hygienist. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as an Oral Hygienist. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB). Experience: A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience in the relevant profession after registration with the HPCSA as an Oral Hygienist. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook). Good interpersonal skills and perform effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Professional ethics.
