This fund backs enterprises in rural areas and townships, including community-owned projects, co-operatives and businesses run by traditional communities. It funds acquisitions, new ventures and expansion from R1 million to R50 million, often alongside grant funding from government departments.

Typical deals include agri-processing plants, community tourism lodges, township shopping and industrial nodes, and manufacturing that supplies local demand.

Who qualifies

Majority black-owned business, co-operative or community entity operating in a rural area or township; viable project with local job creation.
