Sectors
The Women Empowerment Fund was created because black women received a small share of NEF approvals. It ring-fences capital for businesses that are majority-owned and managed by black women, and applies across the NEF's iMbewu, uMnotho and Rural and Community Development products, from R250 000 to R75 million.
Applications follow the normal NEF process but are prioritised and supported by the NEF's pre- and post-investment units, which help with business plans and mentorship.
Who qualifies
At least 50.1% owned and managed by black South African women; registered; viable business or transaction.
